Why To Conceal Carry?

It’s Your Constitutional Right

The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Practice your right to bear arms!

To Protect Yourself

Mass shootings in the United states are on the rise.  Conceal carrying a gun reduces the chance of being caught in a shooting defenseless.  Below are shooting statistics reported by BBC News.

There were 372 mass shootings in the US in 2015 that killed 475 people and wounded 1,870, according to the Mass Shooting Tracker, which catalogues such incidents. A mass shooting is defined by a shooting that kills four or more people. Source: Mass Shooting Tracker

School shootings: There were 64 school shootings in 2015, according to a dedicated campaign group set up in the wake of the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre in Connecticut in 2012. Those figures include occasions when a gun was fired but no-one was hurt.Source: Everytown for Gun SafetyResearch

All Shootings throughout the country: according to the Gun Violence Archive 13,286 people were killed in the US by firearms in 2015, and 26,819 people were injured.

How the US compares to other countries: The number of gun murders per capita in the US in 2012 – the most recent year for comparable statistics – was nearly 30 times higher than the UK.  Out of all the murders in the US in 2012, 60% were by firearms compared to 31% in Canada, 18.2% in Australia, and just 10% in the UK.

Protect Your Family

Shootings never come expected.  Gaining a concealed weapons permit often requires taking a safety class.  This class teaches skills needed to properly handle a gun and how to react in situations that require using a gun.  In addition it provides education on proper gun use laws in your area.  Skills learned during a conceal carry course can better prepare a person to protect themselves and their family in the case of a home invasion.

Concealed Handguns Deter crime

States that implemented “shall-issue” concealed carry laws reduced murders by 8.5 percent, rapes by 5 percent, aggravated assaults by 7 percent, and robbery by 3 percent, according to an analysis of FBI crime data by economist and political commentator John R. Lott Jr., PhD. Conversely, states with more restrictive concealed-carry laws have gun-related murder rates that are 10 percent higher, according to a 2013 study in Applied Economic Letters.

Police Cannot Always Be Relied On For Protection

A 2013 research article in the Wall Street Journal reported that the average police response time to an emergency call is 11 minutes, with some responses taking much longer. In Detroit the average response time is 58 minutes. Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack said, “police do very little to prevent violent crime. We investigate crime after the fact.”

Sometimes the police cant make it to the scene before action is required by the citizen.  Having a gun can prevent crime when police force is not present.
